What do you do when you find yourself in a journey where you are the 3rd or 4th wheel of the car? When you understand that you’re not as welcome as you thought you should have been.
I have been recently in that position. Yes, funny isn’t it! 🙂 I have felt it as soon as I arrived and soon I was left with the choice between leaving and running home as fast as I could, or pursuing the journey, although it was clear I’d be alone in the middle of a group for the remaining of it.
I decided my trip was more important than my position in the group; that I had to stay up until the end and try to enjoy myself and make the best I could out of the opportunity I had to be in an amazing adventure. Mine.
Also we have to put things in perspective, haven’t we, we all have certainly been involved in much less enjoyable situations and depending where you’re traveling, you’ll be surrounded by people less fortunate than yourself. Although I don’t want to diminish anyone’s pain, our pain is what’s real to us.
And finally one very important thing: others can not make you feel the 3rd or 4th wheel of a car, only you can.
That sucks to be the 4th wheel in the car. : (
Then you have a make a choice between the company or the journey. It’s always much more enjoyable when you have both.
Best of luck!
Yes, it’s better to have both. In the end of the day you feel like they spoil your journey.
